Creative Ways To Discipline Child And Foster Positive Behavior At Home

Parents have an essential role in improving their child's behavior. You are the child's first teachers. Hence, you should know how to inculcate in your children right conduct at all times. Disciplining your child means instructing proper behavior to your child. Below are some creative ways to discipline child at home and foster positive behavior early in your child's life.

The actors. Playing pretend is a great way to promote right conduct and positive behavior. There are many ways in which you and your kid can play pretend and learn from it while having fun. For instance, you can join in with your kid's "tea party". You can teach your kid how to say "please" if you want something to hand over to you (like a cup of tea). You can also teach her to say "thank you" when something good is done out of favor. It is also a perfect time to teach her food etiquette. Another example is playing "superhero." You can make your child clean up the clutters by doing it in "super speed". You can also say that as a superhero he has a role to "save the day" (by helping you out with chores) and to always "do good things" to other children (and not to bully other kids).

The winner. If you have a problem with your child not finishing his meal, then, how about bringing him to a challenge. You can ask him to race you in finishing a meal. Whoever finishes first is the winner. If you are having difficulty in making him to brush his teeth, why don’t you race him to the bathroom? Of course, you don’t need to actually win this "competition" but to make him realize that the chores and good habits can be fun.

Behavior chart. Behavior charts are a creative and useful tool to help you discipline child effectively. These charts are used to monitor your kid's behavior. If he does a good thing or accomplishes a chore then he can gain a "star." The more stars he gets the more chances he reaches the goal (i.e. total stars needed for him to meet up) by the end of the week. When he attains the goal then he will get the reward that both of you have agreed with at the start. Behavior charts can also be used to monitor a child's negative behavior. If he continues to display misbehavior he could be up for an agreed punishment for a number of negative acts he demonstrated at the end of the week. Behavior charts are your flexible tool to discipline child right at your home.

There are many ways to understand child problems and above are just some of the ways to discipline your child. If everything else seems not to work perhaps you can use an effective parenting guide or child behavior management programs to help you out.
